港兩巴及的士相撞 3死50多人傷
(都市日報 P.35 20 Nov 2012) Three people were killed and
over 50 injured in a five-vehicle pile-up (互相碰撞擠成一團)
in Shau Kei Wan
yesterday.
The crash involved two
double-decker buses (雙層巴士),
a taxi and two other vehicles.
Media reports say the three fatalities (死者) were the taxi driver and his two passengers, one of whom was a 30-year-old foreign national.
They were trapped (被困) inside the crushed (壓毀) taxi for more than an hour before firemen managed to cut them free.
An eyewitness(目擊者)said the accident happened when a double-decker First bus travelling downhill suddenly veered(改變方向)out of control near the junction (交匯處)of A Kung Ngam Road and Chai Wan Roads shortly after 11am.
A passenger onboard the First bus was quoted(引述)as saying the bus driver collapsed (累倒) at the wheel and then the vehicle crashed into the taxi and ran off the road.
The KMB bus, which was behind them, then crashed (撞向) into the First bus.
Many of the passengers on board both buses suffered injuries. Most received treatment on the roadside, but some were later sent to three hospitals nearby for further treatment. Metro and agencies.
